Top Asia – Pacific Search Engines July 2008 – comScore
The top Asia – Pacific search engines for July 2008 were announced by the leading Internet measurement firm, comScore. Google ranked #1 at 33.5% of the search engine share for the region by exceeding 9 billion searches. China’s Baidu.com came in second at 27.4% with over 7 billion, and Yahoo! placed third at 19.7% with over 5 billion searches. Data collected is based on the Asia-Pacific Internet audience ages 15 and up at home and work that conducted in excess of 27 billion searches in July.

The top five search engines in the Asia – Pacific Region according to comScore for July 2008 are as follows:

Others: “Others” is comprised of the following search engines: TENCENT Inc. at 1.9%, Microsoft Sites at 1.7%, Lycos Sites at 1.5% and Sohu.com Inc. at 1.1% for the region. Pulic computers (Internet cafes, mobile and PDAs) were excluded from the data.
The Asia-Pacific Region encompasses the following countries that are listed by the search volume performed in descending order. For example, China had a almost 11 billion searches and New Zealand, 136 million.
