Top U.S. Search Engines September 2008 – Hitwise
The top U.S. search engine in September 2008 according to Hitwise is once again Google. The dominant search leader increased its share of searches in September to 71.16%, a slight .15% increase over August. Statistics reported by Hitwise are based on the period of four weeks that concluded on September 27, 2008.
Yahoo’s www.search.yahoo.com stats came in at 18.06% which is a .20% decrease from the prior month. MSN’s search.msn.com (redirects to www.live.com) came in at 4.22% or down .03%. The fourth position was captured by Ask at www.ask.com which followed with 3.63% or an increase of .18% over August’s search share .
