Windows 7 Debuts

Microsoft Corporation released the operating system, Windows 7 for sale on Thursday. The newest Redmond, Washington based company’s OS will now be available on new computers and as an upgrade for select versions of previous PCs.
Reports chatter that the software giant is hoping that the public will embrace Windows 7 more earnestly than its predecessor, Vista. The innovative new OS boasts faster booting up intervals, reduction of clicks for familiar tasks and new features including decreased redundant start up tasks and improved performance at keeping track of open windows. In addition, it will place PCs into sleep mode and have faster wake up time for faster on, faster off.
Other significant features include Windows Touch, a touch screen monitor allows the user to interact with the PC.
Microsoft is also stepping in the retail store front arena with the first Microsoft store opening up Thursday in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Forrester Research is reported to have revealed that 80% of new computers that have been installed in the office work place still run the 8-year-old Windows XP operating system. This is due to an apparent lack of interest in Vista or from meager operating budgets.
CEO, Steve Ballmer stated in the press release, Microsoft Simplifies the PC With Windows 7, ““With Windows 7, there’s never been a better time to be a PC.”
