Top U.S. Search Engines December 2009 – Hitwise
Based on data collected from a sample of ten million Internet users in the United States, Hitwise issued a press release on January 14, 2010 indicating that Google tipped the search engines scales with a total of 72.25% U.S. Internet web searchers in December 2009.
Rounding out the top four were Search.Yahoo.com with 14.83%, Bing.com accounting for 8.92% and Ask.com had 2.54%. Sixty-six other search engines tallied 1.48% of the search conducted in the U.S. Hitwise’s search engine statistics are drawn from data collected from on rolling 4-week time interval that ended on November 28, 2009 and January 2, 2010 from a sampling of ten million surfers in the U.S.
