Melissa was born in New Jersey and will turn 22 in July. She was raised in New Jersey, Michigan and Illinois. She graduated from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education with a major in English. She is working in Chicago for the summer while seeking a teaching position.
One of four children, Melissa was nicknamed “Louie” at the age of one year. The name evolved from a song her parents would sing about “Melissa Lou” because “Lou” rhymed with “you”. “Lou” developed into “Louie”. The nickname was an extreme contradiction to the little girl who insisted on wearing pink dresses and “church shoes” every day. It took years before she considered it a term of endearment. Matthew 24, was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2003 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Although he did very well in Engineering, he knew that God was leading him in a different direction. In the fall of 2004 he enrolled in Wheaton College to pursue a masters degree in Clinical Psychology. His ambition is to counsel individuals and families with a Christian perspective.
Matthew has an older sister and brother, Beth and David. His twin brother and close companion is Michael. Matthew is working hard toward completing graduate school, and looking forward to a bright future with Melissa. |
