Scenes From Yesterday - The Big Trips
In 1936, C.O. Anderson, General Sales Manager of G.R. Kinney Co., Inc., started an annual contest for a "Big Trip" to Bermuda. All stores competed during October, November, and December each year, and in the end, one manager was chosen from each of the twelve leagues. By the 1950s, the company paid for winners a Big Trip cruise to take their wives along. By 1994, the Big Trip contests were still going strong with winners, once bound for Bermuda, traveling the world.
