Are you feeling a little less inspired than the day you started your blog?
Have you ever tried losing weight?
For many of my readers, the main issue when it comes to blogging is inspiration. It seems impossible to find the time, energy and drive to write blog articles. If this wasn’t so hard, I wouldn’t have a job. Today, I’m here to share with you 3 ways that will get you inspired to write.
I think inspiration is huge when it comes to writing. No matter if I’m writing for this blog or one of my ghost writing articles, I need to feel inspired. Before I give you 3 ways to get that inspiration, let me share with you why we need to be inspired.
Blogging is Like Losing Weight
If you have ever tried to lose weight, you’ll know that it doesn’t happen overnight. I saw a post on Pinterest that it takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing. Your friends will notice your amazing body in 8 weeks and for the world to notice your hotness – 12 weeks. Have you ever made it to week 12 when you’re trying to lose weight?
Blogging is like that. If you’ve been in the blogging world for any amount of time, you know that blogging is critical. Writing blog articles is one of the most effective ways to brand your company. To see the amazing benefits, just like trying to lose weight, you have to keep at it.
It’s always really easy to start blogging. In the beginning, you have all of these amazing ideas and they just flow out of you and onto your computer. Then life happens. Suddenly, there is no motivation or inspiration. Instead, they have been replaced by duty and responsibility.
So, let’s get inspired. It’s time to put a little pep in our step.
3 Tips on How to Get Inspired to Write Blog Articles
- Location, Location, Location
My first tip to getting inspired is to write in a place that inspires you. I personally draw inspiration from the outdoors. So, especially when it’s nice out like it is today, I write outdoors. We have a pond in our backyard with a beautiful fountain. You may not want to be outside, so maybe step away from your desk and write somewhere else. When I’m not outdoors, I’m literally on my couch.
- Take Time to Set Up
No matter what time of day it is, I like to write with the smell of coffee in the air. I’m a coffee lover and someday, I’ll do something about drinking so much, but that day isn’t today.
I used to get frustrated with myself, thinking I was wasting my time by making coffee and getting set up in my little space to write. Now, I know better. I need to give myself time to breath and not feeling rushed helps me to be inspired. Also having a clean house really helps.
- Read Quotes
Months ago, I sat at a Panera Bread restaurant trying to think of something to write. Then I looked up and found a really inspiring quote. That quote inspired an entire article, 5 Secrets that Will Turn You into a Blogging Trailblazer. Here was the quote,
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
