The Great Debate

My husband and I often have this debate. My goal is usually efficiency. His goal is getting it done right the first time. It’s a debate because sometimes we agree on how to do things and sometimes we don’t.

On occasion, my life cheats get things done faster. However, more often that I would care to admit, his slow and precise way of doing things wins not only in quality, but also in time.

While all these blogging cheats really have saved me time, I have one more cheat for you that may cost you time, but will ensure your articles are flawless.

The Best Blogging Cheat

The best blogging cheat that I can offer is before you hit publish, ask yourself if you are proud of this piece of writing?

If the answer is yes – publish that baby. If the answer is anything but a solid yes, take the extra time to go back and change what needs to be changed. Don’t publish shabby content to save time.

Bringing it Home

Use the above cheats to create a piece of writing that you can truly be proud of and communicates exactly what you want it to. Save time when you can, but take the time you need to ensure your article is flawless.

Which is your favorite blogging cheat? Do you have any cheats to add?

  1. Love your bonus cheat- be proud of it & if so, hit publish. Just worked on a new style for me and I am so proud of it, I can’t wait to publish. Glad I didn’t just yet, so I can use some of the resources you provided. Thanks as always for a useful post.

  2. Thank you so much for the shout out, ladies! I LOVE these cheats (and employ many of them myself). The only thing I’d add is to blog consistently. Nothing is worse than building an expectation of a blog post a week and then …. nothing … for weeks!

    I’ll be sharing this!

    • Hey Brooke,

You are so welcome for the shout out; you know how much I love that article! I love your point to add on blogging consistently! It’s so true too, not only does it deflate that expectation, like you said, but you also can the lose steam that pushes you to keep going. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙂

  3. Enjoyed this post, Christine, and the terrific resources you provide. I must admit that tip #5 was the most helpful to me. Thanks for a great article!

    • Hi Michelle,

Brooke calls to action article is gold. I have it bookmarked and refer to it often! I’m so glad you enjoyed the post. I had a great time writing it. 🙂 Have a wonderful day!

Great article and advice. It is a horrible feeling when you hit publish re-read it back later and then find out you have made some nasty typos. The other issue I have had recently is embedding videos on my Mac and then when reading on a different PC with alternative web browser finding the video format is not compatible. It ruined my top 10 sales motivational video blog haha

    • Hey Regan,

Oh no! I know that feeling. I work from a Mac too and as far as they’ve come in making it compatible, sometimes things still don’t turn out right. Hopefully, your next video will be flawless. 🙂 The reading backwards cheat can really help with those nasty typos. Hope you have a wonderful day!
